Organized labor is essential to the health of this country.
It has a long history of struggle to earn its place, starting when companies resorted to private police and the National Guard to break up union demonstrations. Today, the weapons used against unions are money and political influence. Anti-union legislation referred to as ‘Right-to-Work’ has the express purpose of weakening organized labor. We oppose it. Right-to-Work is wrong. The Right-to-Organize is right.
We support a fair wage and benefits for union employees.
On the job safety remains a major union concern.
Job re-training for displaced workers is a necessary part of employee benefits. Unions provide benefits such as these to protect employees, even when companies file for bankruptcy protection.
The continuing presence of strong unions makes America great. Let’s not forget it.
